Autumn Leg Warmers
Step 1: Getting Started
This is a fun and easy project that can be made in minutes but will keep your legs (or your baby's) warm all winter long. Upcycle some sleeves into leg warmers, embellish and wear!
Difficulty: Easy
Materials:
Long Sleeve Shirt or Sweater
Scissors
Sewing machine
Step 2: Instructions
Instructions:
Cut sleeves off of your sweater or long sleeve shirt at the shoulder. I used an old thermal shirt - I loved the color and texture for fall and my baby girl needed some cute lil' leggings so I couldn't resist.
If you cut your sleeves at the shoulder you can always cut them shorter for a smaller fit - I will have to shorten and take mine in to make them baby size- I could probably make two out of one sleeve :)
Step 3: Finishing Up
Once your sleeve is cut you can measure your legs and cut them to size. You can decide if you want to use the sleeve or cut it off but you will want to serge the ends without sleeves for a finished look that won't unravel.
For the last step you will need to serge the other end with a zigzag stitch and if you need to take them in like I did you will just turn your sleeve inside out and stitch the one side lengthwise for a snugger fit.
That's it! Now you can add some cute embellishments or leave them as is to enjoy. Either way I am sure you will be quite happy with the results!
