Autumn Updo Toddler Skirt

This is a fun and frugal way to add some seasonal color and texture to your clothes. Add that extra touch and dress up any skirt in minutes using this quick and easy tutorial for a cute Crochet Waistband!

Flower or other Accessory

To start this project you will want to measure the waistband of the skirt you are using and use that to measure and cut the crochet lace for the front of the waistband or all the way around. I had some left over crochet lace from a previous project and only had enough for the front of the skirt so that is what I measured and cut.

Once your crochet lace is cut you will want to pin in place and sew.   I just used a single stitch along the top and bottom of the lace. If you want the lace to be temporary you can always make a belt by sewing the ends of the lace to elastic and place over the waistband- that is always another great way to go because it is not permanent.

When your lace is attached to the waistband or elastic you can sew or hot glue a cute embellishment to the waistband to dress it up a bit. I added a flower I bought at a MIcheals but feel free to add a bow or whatever you have on hand. Once that is in place it is ready to wear- enjoy!
