Chimney Snow Man

Materials Needed:

Branded Foam:  Two Balls each of size: 2”; 3"
                                A Block of size: 15" x 3" x 3". 

1.      paint(Acrylic): black; metallic silver; orange

2.      paint for FOAM: white

3.      White felt sheet: 8" x 12"

4.      White chenille stem

5.      Fine White glitter particles

6.      one pair feathered white wings, 

7.    two small beads 

8.   Music sheet 

Stationary items:

• Powdered blush
• Knife
• paraffin
• Pencil and ruler
• three toothpicks
• Medium sized paintbrush
• Scissors
• White craft glue sticks

 

Craft procedure:

Step 1:  Apply a coat of paraffin on the knife and cut the block of foam to the desired size.(8”).Glue the smaller blocks together if the foam block is not readily available. This forms the chimney of the snow man.

Step 2:  From the bigger foam ball (3”) a fraction of the bottom part is sliced out (3/4”). This forms the tummy of the snow man. One end of a toothpick is stuck to the flat part of the 3” foam ball. The other end of the toothpick is glued to the chimney created in the previous step. The smaller ball is glued to the other end of the bigger ball in the similar way. Thus a snow man is formed.

Step 3: The chimney is then decorated by sticking music sheet on the foam block. Allow it to dry completely.

Step 4: Now comes the most exciting part which brings life to the snow man. Apply paint on the snow man. The chimney is painted with pure white paint. Simply pour the paint on the chimney allowing it to run over the sides of the chimney unevenly. Sprinkle glitter particles on the snowman, when the paint remains wet. This gives the feel of the snow on the chimney.

Step 5: Two small beads are glued to the tummy of the snow man which forms the button. The tip of the pencil is dipped in to the black paint. Paint two dots on the face of the snow man which forms the eyes. Paint five dots which is the mouth of the snow man. Apply yellow paint mildly on both cheeks, thereby making the snow man to blush. The toothpick tip is painted in orange and the tip is stuck in the face. This completes the face of the snow man.

Step 6: Hat is cut from felt of size 2" x 7". Make a small cylinder out of it. Cut two circles from felt .One with the same diameter of the cylinder and another one slightly bigger than it. Stick the two circles on the cylinder. Chenille stem is cut which is draped around the brim of the hat. Allow it to dry. Hat is ready.

Step 7: The silver white wings are stuck to the back of snow man’s body. Scarf of the snow man is cut from felt and glued securely around the neck of the snow man. A Pair of hands is glued to the side of the snow man which is cut from the chenille stem. The chimney snow man is ready.
