Easter BasketStep 1: Getting Started
There is nothing cuter that a toddler running and hopping in a bunny hat for Easter! This Bunny hat is simple to create and a joy to crochet. The beanie style hat is perfect for a toddler around size 2T - 4T. Our free crochet pattern looks adorable worked up in the white yarn color, but would also look cute in a light brown or variegated color too (for little boys).
Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate
Materials: “Caron Simply Soft” yarn colors; Bone, Soft Pink, and White.
Hook size: H

Base: CH 4, SL in 1st CH, Ch 2, turn.
Row 1: 21 DC in Ring, SL to 1st DC, CH2, turn.
Row 2: *DC in FP, in next sp 3 DC (BP, FP, BP), rep 10 times from *, SL to 1st DC made, CH2, turn.
Row 3: *DC in FP, DC in BP, rep 20 times from *, DC in FP, SL in 1st DC, CH 2 turn.
Row 4: DC in BP, *in next sp 3 DC (FP, BP, FP), DC in BP, DC in FP, DC in BP, Rep 9 times from *, in next sp 3 DC (FP, BP, FP), DC in BP, SL in 1st DC, CH 2, turn.
Row 5: *DC in FP, DC in BP, Rep 31 times from * DC in FP, SL in 1st DC, CH 2, turn.
Row 6: *DC in BL, DC in FP, Rep 31 times from * DC in BP, SL in 1st DC, CH 2, turn.
Rows 7-18: Repeat Rows 5 and 6. (On row 18 after SL CH 1 not 2)
With Brown yarn:
Row 19: SC around, SL in 1st SC, CH1, turn.
Row 20: SC around in FL, SL in 1st SC, CH 2, turn.
Row 21: *6 DC in 3rd SC from hook, SL in 3rd SC from hook, rep around from * SL in first DC made, do not turn.
Row 22: SL in BL around, tie off hide string.
Step 3: Finishing Up
Left Ear
Base: Pink yarn; CH 20, tie off.
Row 1: Attach pink yarn to right side of chain; 3 SC, 2 HDC, 3 DC, 2 TR, 3 DC, 4 HDC, 3 SC, in next sp (2 SC, CH 3, 2 SC), 3 SC, 4 HDC, 3 DC, 2 TR, 3 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC, 2 SC in next SC. Tie off
Row 2: Attach Brown yarn to right side of Row 1; In BL 5 SC, 3 HDC, 3 DC, 5 HDC, 5 SC, 6 SL, 4 SC, 2 SC in last SC.
Right Ear
Base: Pink yarn; CH 20, tie off.
Row 1: Attach Pink yarn to right side of CH; 2 SC in 1st CH, 2 SC, 2 HDC, 3 DC, 2 TR, 3 DC, 4 HDC, 3 SC, in next sp ( 2 SC, CH 3, 2 SC), 3 SC, 4 HDC, 3 DC, 2 TR, 3 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC, Tie off.
Row 2: Attach Brown yarn to right side of row 1; 2 SC in 1st SC, 4 SC, 3 HDC, 3 DC, 5 HDC, 5 SC, 6 SL, 5 SC, 5 HDC, 3 DC, 3 HDC, 2 SC, tie off.
Attach ears to sides of hat between rows 18 and 19 of hat on left and right sides. Tack the ear down to hat in middle and tip of ear with like color. Hide string. Congrats you have a darling bunny hat.
