Crochet Baby Blanket

This sweet little crocheted baby blanket is not only easy to make but would make the perfect gift for any mother-to-be!

Materials:

Simply Soft Yarn- about 12 ounces

Crochet hook No.3

6 1/2 yards of satin ribbon preferrably 3 inches wide.

Size: 33 x 42 inches.

Gauge: 6 dc make 1"; 3 rows make 1".

Directions: Starting at narrow end, make chain 36 inches long.

1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across until row measures 33 inches, having a number of dc divisible by 6 and 2 over at end of row. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn.

2nd and 3rd rows: skip first dc, * (yarn over, insert hook from front under bar of next dc, draw loop through, yarn over and complete a dc - raised dc made) 3 times; (yarn over, insert hook from back over bar of next dc, draw loop through, yarn over and complete a dc - low dc made) 3 times. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning chain. Ch 2, turn.

4th and 5th rows: Skip first dc, * make a low dc over each of next 3 dc, make a raised dc over each of next 3 dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn.

Repeat 2nd to 5th rows inclusive until piece measures 42 inches. Break off. Block to measurements.

Bind blanket with ribbon, mitering corners.
