Knit Hat

MATERIALS:

2 balls of yarn, I used- Black Wool-Ease yarn (Color A)

and White Chenille yarn (Color B) w/extra black thread for bulk and fancy eyelash

Knitting Needles- Size 9 [5 mm]- for more stretch and length use Size 10 needle

Large-Eye Blunt Needles (Set of 6)

GAUGE:     18 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (knit every row). Check your gauge- when you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

With A, cast on 80 sts. 
Rows 1-6: Knit with A. 
Rows 7-12: Knit with B. 
Rows 13-18: Knit with A. 
Rows 19-22: Knit with A. 
Rows 23-28: Knit with A. 
Rows 29-30: Knit with A.  
Row 31: With A, *k8, k2tog, rep from * across – 72 sts. 
Row 32: With A, knit. 
Row 33: With A, *k7, k2tog, rep from * across – 64 sts. 
Row 34: With A, knit. 
Row 35: With A, *k6, k2tog, rep from * across – 56 sts. 
Row 36: With A, knit. 
Row 37: With A, *k5, k2tog, rep from * across – 48 sts. 
Row 38: With A, knit. 
Row 39: With A, *k4, k2tog, rep from * across – 40 sts. 
Row 40: With A, knit. 
Row 41: With A, knit.
Row 42: With A, knit. 
Row 43: With A, *k2, k2tog, rep from * across – 24 sts. 
Row 44: With A, knit. 
Row 45: With A, *k1, k2tog, rep from * across – 16 sts. 
Row 46: With A, knit. 
Row 47: With A, *k2tog, rep from * across – 8 sts. 
Cut yarn, leaving a 12 in. (30.5 cm) tail. Thread tail through remaining 8 sts, pull together tightly, and sew back seam.

FINISHING 
Weave in ends.
