Step 1: Materials List

Grab your old unused sweaters out of your closet- its time for some cozy Winter upcycling! If you have viewed or made our sweater pillow craft, here is what I made with the rest of the sweater - diy fingerless gloves! All done in minutes. I love the simplicity of this diy craft, and that it allows me to repurpose old sweater pieces and parts to create a new accessory for my fall or winter wardrobe.

Difficulty: Easy

Materials:

Sweater
Scissors
Sewing machine
Straight pins
Embellishments - optional

Step 2: Getting Started

Instructions:

Pull out your sweater. Lay it out on a flat surface so you can get to the sleeves easily. Cut them off right above the elbow or up at the shoulder depending how long of a sleeve you have and how long you want your gloves to be.

Next, fold over the side that was cut and hem them with a zig-zag stitch on your sewing machine or hand stitch if you are worried about the fabric stretching. Once I was done with that I also turned mine inside out and hemmed the inside to make them a tighter fit but that part is optional.

Step 3: Finishing Up

Now, Slip them over your hand to measure where you want you thumb to be and mark and remove from your hand and cut a 1" slit for your thumb. I would hand stitch this part after the hole is cut to keep the ends from fraying. You can also hand stitch between each finger if you want to but that is optional.

Add some cute embellishments or leave them as they are- they are cute either way!
