Step 1: Getting Started

Keep your little ones warm this fall and winter with these cute and easy-to-make DIY leggings! This is a sweet, budget friendly, homemade gift idea for the Christmas Season too. These would also make great stocking stuffers. The best part of this crafty DIY is that the leggings can be made using materials you already have on hand or purchased at a dollar store. Friends and family will love receiving a colorful hand-made pair of leggings this year!

Difficulty: Easy

Long Socks
Sewing Machine or
Thread and Needle
Embellishments (optional)

Step 2: Craft Tutorial

Step 1: Begin by cutting the foot part off of your socks- I cut mine right above the heel (can you believe I found these cute patterned socks at the dollar store!)  The best way to cut these evenly I found was to cut them out at the same time. You can also use a rotary cutter for a straighter line if you need.

Step 2: Now you will fold the top down half an inch and do a quick top stitch or hand stitch if you prefer- hand stitching is a great way to teach your kids how to sew as well so that is not a bad idea if you need to give them something to do.

Hand stitch an embellishment or bow to the top or leave as is - so cute and easy to make either way!
