Daisy Applique

So so Cute!! Daisies are always a great way to celebrate the spring. It measures 4” across. You can substitute different colors for the peddles for a variety of different daisies. The flowers are a lightweight size 3 yarn.

 

Materials: Readheart- Baby soft yarn, I used White and powder blue. Bernat- softee baby lemon, hook Size – G/6.

 

CH = Chain

SL = Slip Stitch

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

FL = Front loop

BL = Back Loop

St = stitch

Rep = Repeat

 

White Base: Ch 6, Sl to 1st ch made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 1: 2 SC in each CH sp, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1 turn (Should have 12 sts).

Rnd 2: SC in BL, *CH 8, (now working in ch sps) SC in 1st CH from hook, 1 HDC, 3 DC, 2 HDC, 1 SC in BL on next rnd 1 sp, Rep from * 11 more times, SL to 1st SC made, tie off and hide string.

 

Yellow center: You should have a circle of loops in the center of your flower. You will work the first rnd in these loops.

Rnd 3: 12 SC around the FL of rnd 2, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 4: SC in every other st in rnd 3, SL to 1st SC made, Tie off and leave long tail.

Rnd 5: Take the tail and weave tail in and out through rnd 4, Pull end to close, tie off, and hide string.

After the flowers are done  it is important to Block the flowers so they lay down flat. unless you like the look of them being slightly curled at the ends.
