Step 1: Getting Started

This pretty wand makes a great decorative piece or accent to many types of costumes such as fairy, princess or witch/wizard outfits! The wand is actually a super cute tatted flower, made from 3 different colors and dazzled with rhinestones. Our free tatting pattern and wand diy instructions will please your little fairy princess for sure!

Difficulty: Intermediate

Materials: Size 20 Thread Colors: Pink yellow and white (or any color you choose),2 shuttles, Small 3/16 dowel, green and yellow ribbon, pink small rinestones, and a glue gun.

Step 2: Pattern Instructions

Flower:

Rnd 1(pink thread):
        R1: 10---10 CL. RW.
            Ch1: 10 do not RW.
                R2 (with CH Shuttle) 5 - 5 CL.
            CH2: 10 CL. RW.
            
        R3: 10+(in R1 P) 10 CL. RW.
            Ch1: 10 do not RW.
                R2 (with CH Shuttle) 5 - 5 CL.
            CH2: 10 CL. RW.

    Rep R3 Though CH2 Three times and connect end to beginning.

Rnd 2(white):
    Clover1: R1: 12 - 2 cl
            R2:2+(to prev p in R1)5+(to Rnd1: R2's P)5-2 CL.
            R3:2+(to prev P in R2)12 CL. RW
                CH1:2-12 do NOT RW.
                    R4(with CH Shuttle)4-1--1-4 CL.
                CH2:12-2 RW.
    Clover2: R1: 12 - 2 cl
            R2:2+(to prev p in R1)5+(to Rnd1: R2's P)5-2 CL.
            R3:2+(to prev P in R2)12 CL. RW
                Ch1:2+(to prev P in CH)10 Do NOT RW.
                    R4(with CH SHuttle)4-1--1-4 CL.
                CH 2: 10-2 RW.
    
    Rep Clover2 Through Ch2(twice).
    
    Clover 5:Rep CLover 2 though Ring 4
                CH 2:10+(to 1st CH Made)2 tie to beginning.
                
Rnd 3(Ring shuttle yellow and Chain one white)
    Clover 1:R1: 10 -(+ on Rep only to prev p in R4)7-3 CL.
            R2:3+(to prev p in R1)7+(to Rnd 2 R4 middle p)7-3 CL.
            R3:3+(to prev p)7-10 CL. RW
                CH1: 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 (or 10 picots sep by 2) RW.
            R4:7+(to clover1 R3's P)7-1--1-7-7 CL. RW.
                Ch2: 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 (or 10 picots sep by 2) RW.
    
    Rep Clover 1 Through CH2 4 more times.
    On Last Rep change R4 to:
            R4: 7+(to clover1 R3's P)7-1--1-7+(to R1 on 1st R made)7 CL.RW.
                CH2: 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 (or 10 picots sep by 2) RW. Tie to Beginning.

Step 3: Finishing Up

After hiding strings stiffen with fabric stiffener. You will want the flower very hard.           

Wand:
Take Dowel and glue gun and glue the ribbon around dowel with green ribbon.

Take yellow ribbon and tie to top of wand and wrap knots around with more yellow ribbon to make a thicker base for flower.

After Flower Dries hot glue gun the flower to the top of the Wand and decorate with rhinestones.

Hang it up or share it with the little princess in your home, too much fun!
