Decoupaged Paper Mache Heart

Pretty patterned papers combine to make this lovely heart that will look pretty hanging from a doorknob or on the front door this Valentine's Day.

What you need

• Paper mache heart with handle
• 3 different Valentine scrapbook papers
• Mod Podge
• Sponge applicator
• Scissors
• twine
• hot glue or instant grab glue

What you do

Section off your paper mache heart into three pieces using a pencil.

Trace heart onto a piece of paper and draw your sections. Use this as your pattern and cut out the pieces from patterned papers.

To work around the handle holes, cut a slit in the paper.

Alternatively, you can tear the shapes for the heart as well to get a more distressed look.

Apply Mod Podge to the paper mache heart and press paper into place. Add a coat of Mod Podge over the top of the paper as well.

Allow to dry then use hot glue or instant grab glue to attach a bow fashioned from a piece of twine.
