These pretty little bells have several uses, from tree ornaments to gift toppers, and kids will love making them too! Made from recycled egg cartons, this project puts the "green" in Christmas.
  You will need

cardboard egg cartons
scissorsacrylic paint
glueglitter
floral wire
What you do
Cut out the egg cups from a recycled egg carton. Give them a coat or 2 of acrylic paint, inside and out (you can skip painting if you don't mind seeing carton through the glitter).

Add a generous coat of glue and sprinkle with glitter, inside and out.
When they are dry, poke a hole in the bottom.

1

Snip about 2" of floral wire and bend into a tear drop shape.

2

Poke the ends through the hole in and bend to each side to secure while maintaining the loop shape on top.

3

Some ideas:

  • String them on a strip of ribbon to make a garland
  • Cluster a few of them at the end of a ribbon to make an ornament (pictured below)
  • String them onto a gift bow to add some shimmer to a special package
  • Use atop a colorful bundle of yule logs (pictured at top)
  • Use as beautiful baubles on a fancy holiday wreath

Tips:

  1. You could add some more glue and glitter to conceal the wires inside
  2. The leaves are cut from the lid of an egg carton. Just poke a hole at the bottom of the leaf, thread a wire through and twist it to the ribbon.
