Christmas Craft Ideas - Felt Candle

Materials Needed:

 

1.     White glitter felt (1/2 sheet lengthwise)

2.     Chopstick or Skewer (bamboo)

3.     3" square piece felt  (orange and yellow)

4.     Glue (specifically for felt)

5.     Thin ribbon (silver)

6.     Pair of Scissors

 

Craft Procedure:

 

This is probably one of the simplest Christmas crafts that you can easily make. It may be simple but truly significant for the Yuletide Season. It is really so easy to make that even a five year old child can do this with ease under an adult supervision of  course. This is indeed a great project for both kids and parents to enjoy. Making this particular Christmas craft is also a great way for parents to bond and enjoy real quality time with their children. It is also one of the most practical Christmas crafts to personalized and customized. You need not have to spend a great amount of money to be able to make your personalized felt candle. It is really so easy to make. Here is the step-by-step instructions for making a nicely crafted felt candle that will be perfectly fit to hand on the tree:  

1. Carefully place the skewer or chopstick at one end of the felt. Slowly roll it up. If you cannot achieve a perfect roll on the first attempt simply tap it slowly on the table until you get the desired perfectly even roll. Secure the rolled felt using felt Glue. To ensure that it is securely glued, you have to use rubber bands around it until it completely dries up.
2. Using the yellow felt, cut an almond shape. The size of which should not exceed about 2" x 1". Using the orange felt cut two pieces of that same shape. This time it should just be about half the size. Carefully paste the orange pieces to both sides of the yellow piece using felt glue. This should be perfectly done to create a real looking flame for your felt candle.
3. Carefully take out the skewer or chopsticks. Cover the hole left by the skewer or chopsticks by dotting in ample amount of glue in the hole. Slowly insert the end tip of the flame to the glued hole using a skewer to ensure it is carefully inserted in.
4. Attach the silver ribbon within a fold of the rolled felt using an ample amount of glue. This should serve as the hanger for your felt candle.
