Free Crochet Patterns - Flower and Stem Application

Fun and easy appliqué for clothes, pillows, blankets, etc. It is made from size 10 thread size 1.5 crochet hooks, and a needle and thread.

Materials: Size 10 thread, White and Light Green. Size 1.5 Crochet hook, needle and thread colors white and green, and a white button for flower center.

 

CH = Chain

SL = Slip Stitch

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

TR = Treble Crochet

 

Flower: White

Base: CH 12, SL to 1^st CH made to complete ring, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 1: * 2 SC in Ch 12 ring, CH 9, (working down the chain just made) 8 SC, 2 SC in CH 12 ring, rep from * 4 more times, SL to 1^st SC made, Ch 1 turn.

Rnd 2: *SK 2 sps, 1 SC, HDC, 2 DC, 2 TR, 2 DC, in next (corner) sp (2 HDC, CH 2, 2 HDC), 2 DC, 2 TR, 2 DC, HDC, SC, Rep from * around SL to 1^st SC made, Tie off and hide string.

 

Leaf and Stem

Base: CH 41

Row 1: 2 SL, 3 SC, 4 HDC, 8 DC, 5 TR, 6 DC, 5 HDC, 4 SC, 2 SL, CH 1, Turn.

Row 2: 4 SC, CH 24, turn.

Row 3: 23 SC down Ch sps, 4 SC, CH 1, turn.

Row 4: 9 SC, CH 13, turn.

Row 5: 2 SC, 3 HDC, 2 DC, 2 TR, 2 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC, 6 SL, Tie off and hide sting.

 

Take the needle and thread of like color and sew around the perimeter of stem and Flower. After the Flower and stem are sewed in place, take the white button and sew into the center of flower applique.
