Heart Sun Catchers
The beauty of these heart shaped sun catchers is that not one will be exactly like the other! You can change these to use whatever colors you prefer. They are fun enough for adults and easy enough for kids. A fun way to decorate for Valentine's Day.
You will need- waxed paper
- Tissue paper in Valentine colors, torn into pieces
- Mod Podge (We used shimmer Mod Podge for a glittery result)
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- String
- Needlepoint needle
- Scotch tape
Add several pieces of tissue paper in different colors, overlapping so as to cover all the Mod Podge. Use paintbrush to add Mod Podge over the top of the tissue paper pieces.
Continue this until you have a large section of the waxed paper covered then set aside to dry.
When completely dry, cut out hearts. Thread a needle with string and run through the heart. Run the needle from the back of the heart first, through the front, then back through again so that all you see in the front is a small stitch.
Carefully (be gentle) tie a knot in the string at the back of the heart. Don't pull too hard, you could rip the heart. Trim off excess of one end, leaving one long strand to hang heart from.
Add a little piece of tape to the back over the knot. Hang in the window!
