
Infant Stocking Hat - Knitting Pattern
This sweet little infant stocking hat is a great beginners knitting project! The hat size is for 3-6 months. It is super cute and just in time for the winter season! This hat will make a precious holiday or shower gift and a great gift for grandkids too. Difficulty: EasyK= Knit
P= Purl
P2tog=Purl Two Stitches Together
Instructions:
Cast on 63 sts and split between 3 sock needles,
Rows 1-20: P63, *make sure you mark your rounds.
CC to Pistache
Rnd 21-26: K63
CC to Ivory
Rnd 27- 32: K63
CC to Pistache
Rnd 33- 62: Repeat Rnds 21-32 (Basically just changes color every 6 rows.)
Rnd 63 (Ivory): K63
Rnd 64:*P1, P2tog, Rep from * around end with P1. (42 sts)
Rnd 65: K42
Rnd 66: *P1, P2tog, Rep from * around. (28 sts)
Rnd 67: K 28
Rnd 68:* P1, P2tog, Rep across end with P1.
Rnd 69: K around. Cut and leave a long tail.
Cast off by taking a darning needle and attaching it to the end of the long tail. Take the darning needle and run through the loops on Rnd 69, Slip off the needles and pull tight to close the hat.
Make sure to hide all the strings. The first 20 rows should be folded up. I let the row curl up.
Take the 2 buttons and sew them to the front of the hat. Enjoy your new hat!
