Knit Witch Leg Warmers! How Fun and Easy! These fit Kids from Sizes 6T-8T. The bottoms of these leg warmers flare out at the bottom so they can cover part of their shoes.

 

This can easily be made into bigger sizes by casting on more sts in 2’s. You would have to redo row 4- making sure you have an even number of YO in your work. For adults adding an additional stripe and ending on black instead of purple.

 

Materials: Caron Simply Soft yarn – Iris and Black, Size 5mm Knitting Sock Needles, and One spool of 7/8” of orange ribbon.

 

K = Knit

P=Purl

P2tog = Purl 2 sts together

K2tog = Knit 2 Sts together

YO= yarn over.

St(s) = Stitch(s)

 

Black Yarn

Cast on: 44 sts and put these stitches evenly onto 3 of the four needles.

Row 1-3: * K1, P1, rep from * around.

Row 4: K1, P1, *YO, P2tog, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, YO, K2tog, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, Rep from * around, (6 holes).

Row 5-8: * K1, P1, Rep from * around.

 

CC to Iris (Knit this Strip loosely)

Row 9: K 44 around

Row 10: * K in 2nd loop on left needle the K in the 1St loop SL both off, Rep from * around.

Row 11: Slip 1St ST on 1St Needle over to end of 3rd Needle, * K in 2nd loop on left needle the K in the 1St loop SL both off, Rep from * around.

Row 12-14: Rep Row 11

Row 15: Rep row 11 to last 6 sts, K 1, Take the last 5 unworked sts and put them back onto 1st needle.

 

CC to Black

Row 16-23: *K1, P1, Rep from * around.

 

Rep Rows 9-23: 2 more times

 

CC to Iris Last Stripe

Row 1: K around.

Row 2: *K10, Inc, Rep from * around.

Row 3: K around.

Row 4: * K11, Inc, Rep from * around.

Row 5: K around.

Row 6-8: *K1, P1, rep from * around.

Cast off.

 

Take your ribbon and weave in and out of Row 4 at top leave enough ribbon to tie into a bow.
