The repurposed or "upcycled" t-shirt headband would also make a great gift or homemade favor for a little girl's party. Plus, as an added bonus - this is a no sew project for all you busy ladies!

Difficulty: Easy

Old tshirts – any color

Fabric Scissors or Cutting mat & Rotary Cutter

glue gun & glue

Step 2: Getting Started

Start by cutting two 2" strips from your shirt just under the arms- I found a Rotary Cutter worked best for this project but you can use scissors if thats what you have. Once these are cut- stretch your strips by grabbing at each end and pulling tightly. I cut my strips a little wider for a thicker headband.

Now you are ready to make your headband.

Now make a loop by laying the right side over the left.

Lay your second strip on top of the first like so- with the right side of the second piece UNDER the right side of the First piece.

Step 3: Finishing Up

Now, the left side of the second piece goes UNDER the loop of the first piece

Here's where it gets tricky- the RIGHT side of the SECOND piece goes OVER the loop of the first, passing UNDER the left side of the second and then over the other side of the loop.

Now you are pretty much done with the knot part- pull ends gently to tighten your knot

To finish the ends you can measure and cut and sew elastic to them or hot glue ends together and wrap with fabric. Enjoy!
