Step 1: Getting Started

Do you know someone who needs a Super Cute Newborn Hat? This hat fits an infant's head: 13” head and is 5.5” in height. The buttons add so much cuteness with that extra detail. Change the hat to pink and brown for a girl with pink or brown buttons too. This pattern is made using the seed stitch which allows for the hat to stretch well.

Difficulty: Easy

Materials: Caron Brand Yarn: Grey Heather and Black, two 25 mm black buttons, and a Size H crochet hook.

Hat Instructions:

Base: Ch 3

Rnd 1: 8 Sc in 1st CH made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 2: *SC, Ch 1, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 3: * SC in Ch 1 sp, Ch 1, SC in SC sp, Ch 1, rep from * around, SL to 1st SC , Made, Ch 2, Turn.

Rnd 4: * SC in Ch 1 sp, CH 1, Sk SC sp, SC in Ch 1 sp,  Ch 1, SC in SC sp, CH 1, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1 turn.

Rnd 5: * Sc in CH 1 sp, CH 1, SK SC sp, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 6-8: Rep Rnd 3 and 4

Rnd 9-22: Rep Rnd 4,

CC to Black

Rnd 23-24: Rep Rnd 4

CC to Grey

Rnd 25-27: Rep Rnd 4.

Tie off and hide string.

Sew on the buttons in a vertical fashion slightly off to the side.
