Photo blocks make a wonderful gift. They are inexpensive and because they are homemade, they are also heartfelt.

You will need

wooden blocks
Paint in color of your choice

sand paper
Mod Podge
Photocopies of photos (use a laser printer, not an ink jet)

First paint the blocks and let them dry.

Use a very fine sandpaper to roughen up the edges and corners a bit.

Use ModPodge to apply photocopies of my photos to five sides of the cubes. I have some old wooden thread spools that worked well to hold the cubes up off the newspaper while they dried.

I applied several coats of ModPodge, lightly sanding with fine sand paper between layers. I used some fine steel wool to smooth the last layer.
