Fall Knit Project

This is a fun Fall pattern for a finger puppet that kids will enjoy for hours! 

Materials : Small amounts of worsted weight yarns, in orange and green. Small amount of lightweight yarn in any dark color to stitch mouth, US # 5 needles, Black beads for eyes or felt tip marker

Finished size : about 2½ inches tall with top stem

Pattern:

With orange, cast on 10 sts. Work * K1, P 1* ribbing for 6 rows.
Next row : Knit in front and back of each st. across row. ( 20 sts )
Purl next row. 
Knit 1 row, Purl 1 row twice ( 4 rows)
Knit next row.
Top decrease: * P 2 tog * across ( 10 sts)
Next row: * K 2 tog * across. Cut yarn, thread sewing needle with yarn end,
and draw through remaining sts. Pull to close, and sew down back seam.

With a lightweight yarn, embroider eyes and mouth on front of head or glue beads for eyes or use marker.

Top stem : With green worsted weight yarn, cast on 3 sts. Do not knit, but bind off in knit st. Sew edge of "stem" to top of head.
