Cast On 63 stitches.
Beginner border
Row 1: K in each stitch across.
Row 2: K 1, P1, across.
Row 3-22: repeat rows 1 and 2 ten more times.
Row 23: K 13, place marker, K 37, place marker, K last 13.
Row 24: (K1, P1) repeat to maker, slip marker, P to next marker, (K1, P1) repeat to end.
Repeat rows 23 and 24 until afghan measures 32 inches from the cast one edge, ending with row 24.
Ending border
Row 1: K in each stitch across.
Row 2: K1, P1, across.
Row 3-22: repeat rows 1 and 2.
Cast off loosely and weave in all ends.
