Santa's Belly Treat Cups

Make these festive treat cups and fill them with candy canes, peppermint sticks, lollipops or plastic silverware for the "child's" table at Christmas dinner. Make smaller versions to hold hard Christmas candy by substituting small terra cotta pots instead of cups.

You will need

• Foam or paper cups
• Red acrylic paint
• Red glitter paint
• Black electrical tape
• Scissors
• Small paintbrush
• Medium paintbrush
• Mod Podge or white craft glue
• Gold glitter
• Paper plate
• Snow texture paint

What you do

Paint cups with red paint and let dry. There is no need to paint the rim as you will be covering that with snow texture paint. When red paint is dry, add a coat of red glitter paint. If you want it more glittery, add another coat after the first dries. Let dry.

Wrap electrical tape around the center of the cup to create the belt.

Use small paintbrush and Mod Podge and paint on a buckle.

Using a paper plate underneath to catch the extra, sprinkle gold glitter over the glue buckle. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes then tap off the excess.

Apply snow texture paint to the rims of the cups. Set aside to dry.

If you need to add weight you can glue pennies to the bottom of the cup or glue a few flat marbles inside the bottom of the cup.
