Crochet Christmas Bell make a beautiful ornament for the tree! It is important to have a bell form for this project. I found my bells at JoAnn Fabrics or go to www.plasteelcorp.com. Have fun!

Materials: Size 10 White Thread, Hook Size: 1.30 mm, 2"Diam. x 3" H Liberty Bell,Red 1/2” Ribbon, Glue Gun, Fabric Stiffener.

CH = Chain

SL = Slip Stitch

SLO = Slip Stitch Only

SC = Single Crochet

HDC = Half Double Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

TR = Treble Crochet

Base: CH 3

Rnd 1: 10 SC in 1st CH made, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 2: 2 SC in each SC sp, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 3: 9 CH, 1 SC, *CH 10, 1 SC, Rep from * 18 times, Tie off.

Rnd 4: Connect string by: 1 SC in 1st CH sp in Rnd 3, CH 1, *SL in next CH sp, CH 1, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1 turn.

Rnd 5: *SC in CH 1 sp, SC in SC sp, Rep around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn. (40 sts)

Rnd 6: 40 SC, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 7: * 1 SC, CH 6, SK next SC sp, Rep around, SL to 1st SC made, Tie off, turn work.

Rnd 8: Connect string by: SC in 1st CH sp in Rnd 7, *CH 1, SC in SC sp, rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 9: *SC in CH 1 sp, SC in SC, Rep from * around, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 10: * 4 SC, CH 5, 4 SC, Rep around, SL to 1st SC made, CH 1, turn.

Rnd 11: * 1 SC, CH 10, SK 6 SC sps, 1 SC, Rep 4 times from *, SL to 1st SC made, Ch 1, turn.

Rnd 12: In Ch 10 SP (2 SC, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 3 TR, CH 3, 1 TR, CH 3, 1 TR, CH 3, 3 TR, 2 DC, 2 HDC, 2 SC) Repeat in each CH 10 sp, SL to 1st SC made, do not turn.

Rnd 13: SLO around in SC sts only, Tie off, Hide string.

Time to stiffen the Christmas Bell!!

Step one: cover you 2 3/8” foam bell with plastic wrap,

Step two: Mix you Fabric stiffener of choice and place project in the mixture.

Step Three: Take out of Stiffener and wring excess out of string.

Step Four: place on 2 3/8” bell form. And stretch downward and pin in place.

Step Five: Let Bell dry over night.

Step Six: Hot glue gun a ribbon to the top of bell as desired.
