Do you need a last minute gift? Maybe you need a practical solution for gripping a blazing hot steering wheel on Summer's hottest days. Knit a simple and practical steering wheel for Father's Day, birthdays or any occasion! Our free knitting pattern is a great project for beginners as it knits up quickly and easily.

Create a steering wheel cover in your favorite color using your favorite worsted yarn. You'll enjoy the results and your hands will thank you for the simple antidote for a searing steering wheel!

Skill level: Beginner

Materials: 200 yards of worsted weight yarn
24 inch circular size 6 needles
G crochet hook
Yarn needle

Gauge: 5 stitches to the inch

Stitches used:
K = knit
P = purl
Sc = single crochet

Cast on 10
Row 1: K across
Repeat row 1 until piece measures 32 inches, or when stretched around steering wheel it fits snuggly.
Cast off and weave in ends.

Putting it all together:
Sew cast on end to cast off end. Be careful not to twist.
With crochet hook, Sc in each bump along one side, cut and weave in ends. Repeat for other side.  This time leave a 3 yard tail.
Place the cover on the steering wheel and whip stitch the cover onto the wheel at the sc chain on the. Secure ends and enjoy!
