Step 1: Materials List

It's official! Repurposing and Upcycling crafts are catching on. Crafters and crafty people are putting their creativity to good use by finding new ways to use old things. When it comes to repurposing old t-shirts and gently worn sweaters, we're constantly looking for simple and fun ways to put these tired clothing items back to work.

Whether you are in need of budget friendly decorative pillows or want to recycle your old sweaters, this sweater pillow tutorial is a smart savvy way to get the best of both worlds. You don't have to toss out those old sweaters. Toss them in a pillow form instead!

Step 2: Getting Started

Instructions:
Measure and cut your pillow by placing your pillow form onto your sweater- my sweater was the perfect width for my pillow form but if you have a large sweater you can line up one edges of the sweater to make one less seam for you to sew.

Cut away the excess sweater and set aside for other projects like the leggings or hand warmers- (click on hand warmers for the tutorial) Turn right side out.

Step 3: Finishing Up

Measure around the pillow, leaving a margin to sew. Mark and cut the sweater. Sew the two pieces together leaving a space to slip the pillow form in- if yours has buttons like my sweater than you do not need to leave a space for the pillow form, you can just use that opening to slip the pillow form in.

Slip the pillow form in and if you do not have buttons on your sweater - hand stitch the opening closed. Now you have a comfy cozy pillow for the winter!
