Knit team spirit headband using our free knitting pattern for yourself, a friend or even a coach. This is a great knitting pattern for the beginning knitter or advanced knitter wanting a relaxing evening project to work on.

Skill level: Beginner

Materials:  50 yards of worsted weight yarn of 2 of your favorite team colors.

Size 7 needle

Yarn needle

Gauge: 4 stitches to the inch


Headband

With color A cast on 8 sts.

Row 1 -2: K in each st across.

Row 3-4: Drop color A and pick up color B, K in each st across.

Row 5: Drop color B and pick up color A, inc in first st, knit to the last sts, inc.

Row 6: K in each st across.

Row 7 -8: Drop color A and pick up color B. K in each st across.

Row 9: Drop color B and pick up color A, inc in first st, k in each st to last sts, inc.

Row 10-114: repeat rows 1-4 .

Row 115: Drop color B and pick up color A, K1, k2tog, K across to last 3 sts, K2tog,K1.

Row 116: k in each st across.

Row 117 -118: Drop color A and pick up color B, K in each st across.

Row 119 – 120: Repeat rows 115 and 116.

Cast off and sew the cast on seam to the cast off seam, and weave in ends.


Bow

With color A

Cast on 14

Row 1-16: K in each st across.

Row 15: K2tog, across.

Row 18: K2tog across to last st, k1.

Row 19: Inc in each st across

Row 20: Inc in each st across.

Row 21-36: K in each st across.

Cast off.

 

Sew Bow to headband and weave in ends.
