Valentine Heart Luminary
This pretty Valentine project is perfect for both kids and adults alike. Use any type of recycled jar and whatever color tissue paper you have on hand. Use a tea light candle or battery operated tea light to illuminate your creation!
You will need- Glass jar
- Mod Podge or white craft glue
- Paintbrush
- White and red tissue paper
- Scissors
- Ribbon
What you do
Cut a heart from the red tissue paper and set aside. Tear white tissue paper into pieces.
Working in sections, add some Mod Podge (using a paintbrush) to the glass jar. Place white tissue paper onto the Mod Podge and then paint more Mod Podge over the top of the tissue paper to stick it to the jar. If using white glue, thin it with water first, a ratio of 2 parts glue to 1 part water. Overlap the tissue paper pieces as you work.
Continue until entire jar is covered with white tissue paper. Place the heart onto the jar and position it where you want it.
Add a layer of Mod Podge over the heart.
Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to fit around the rim of the jar. Mod Podge or glue the ribbon around the rim.
