Crochet Patterns - Panel Afghan

Materials Required:
Columbia-Minerva Knitting Worsted (4 Oz. Skein)
8 Skeins--1 Skein is sufficient for 1 Strip including Fringe OR
Columbia-Minerva Nantuk 4 Ply Knitting Yarn
(Knitting Worsted Size--2 or 4 oz. skein)
32 Oz.--4 Oz. is sufficient for 1 Strip including Fringe; Knitting
Needles: 1 Pair "Boye" Size 10 1/2--10 inch
Gauge: Each strip should measure 6 inches in width
1 "Boye" Aluminum Crochet Hook "F" (Size 3 or 4)
Pattern Stitch: (20 Sts.)
Row 1--(Right side of work) K 2, P 2, Y.O., K 4, K 2 together
in back of Sts., K 2 together in front of Sts., K 4, Y.O., P 2, K 2.
Row 2--And all even rows--P 2, K 2, P 12, K 2, P 2.
Row 3--K 2, P 2, K 1, Y.O., K 3, K 2 together in back of Sts.,
K 2 together in front of Sts., K 3, Y.O., K 1, P 2, K 2.
Row 5--K 2, P 2, K 2, Y.O. K 2, K 2 together in back of Sts.,
K 2 together in front of Sts., K 2, Y.O., K 2, P 2, K 2.
Row 7--K 2, P 2, K 3, Y.O., K 1, K 2 together in back of Sts.,
K 2 together in front of Sts., K 1, Y.O., K 3, P 2, K 2.
Row 9--K 2, P 2, K 4, Y.O., K 2 together in back of Sts., K 2
together in front of Sts., Y.O., K 4, P 2, K 2.
Row 10--Same as Row 2.
Repeat these 10 rows for pattern.
Afghan--One Strip: Cast on 20 Sts. Work in Pattern St. for 30
Patterns (repeat Pattern 29 times more), bind off. Strip should measure
68 inches.
Make 7 more Strips. Before joining, block each Strip to 6 inches by
68 inches.
To Join Afghan: With Crochet Hook and a matching color yarn
slip St. 2 Strips together on wrong side of work, picking up 1 loop of
St. Join remaining Strips in same manner. With matching color yarn, work
1 row of slip St. at each side of Afghan.
Fringe: (Each Strip has a fringe of matching color at each
end.) Wind yarn over a 5 1/2 inch cardboard (spreading yarn across the
cardboard to keep strands same length). Cut loops at 1 end. Fold and
knot 3 strands across each end of matching color Strip about 1/2 inch
apart. Make Fringe for each of the remaining Strips the same.
