Here
1. Basecoat the head with Skintone and allow this to dry. If
needed, apply a second coat.
2. Lightly transfer the main pattern lines using gray
graphite directly onto the unfinished turning.
3. Basecoat the collar and hem areas Wicker White. Allow this
to dry and apply a second coat.
4. Basecoat body with Promenade.
5. The heart and lower section of the dress are painted
Bluebell.
The Face:
1. Paint the face according to the pattern. The eyes are painted
using Wicker White, Bluebell and Licorice. The cheeks and mouth are
painted with Apple Spice and the nose is painted using Rusty Nail.
The Hair:
1. The hair is basecoated Harvest Gold. Allow this to dry and
apply a second coat.
2. Using your liner brush, thin Molasses to an ink-like
consistency. Paint thin, hair-like strokes on the head. It is important that you
follow the natural flow or curve of the hair. Be sure to add waves or curls in
the front.
The Dress:
1. Double load your No. 8 flat brush with Extender and Apple
Spice. Blend on the palette to soften the color. This brush is used to shade
around the sleeves, heart and under the collar.
2. The sleeves are highlighted with a double loaded brush of
Extender and Cotton Candy.
3. This same brush is used to highlight the scalloped bottom
of the pinafore.
4. Double load your flat brush with Extender and Slate Blue.
This is used to shade under the scalloped edge of the dress on the Bluebell
section. You are now ready for the fun part—adding detail trim to the dress.
5. The diamond shaped dots on the Promenade section of the
dress are Bluebell.
6. The tiny hearts and strokes are painted using thinned
Apple Spice and your liner brush.
7. Slate Blue and Wicker White are used to paint the strokes
at the bottom of the blue section. Be sure to thin your paint to a thin
consistency.
8. The strokework at the bottom on the Wicker White section
is Promenade. The dots are made using the handle end of your brush and Apple
Spice.
The Halo:
1. Basecoat the halo Apple Spice. Allow this to dry and apply
a second coat.
2. Double load your No. 4 flat brush with Extender and Cotton
Candy. This is used to add the eyelet trim. Using your flat double loaded brush,
paint a wavy line around the halo. You will be floating the color along in a
wavy line to represent the ruffle of eyelet.
3. As an added delicate touch, apply tiny dots of Cotton
Candy on the edge of the eyelet. These dots can be painted using the bristle end
of your liner brush or a stylus.
The Wings:
1. Basecoat the wings Promenade. The outer edge is painted
Apple Spice.
2. When dry, double load your flat brush with Extender and
Apple Spice. Apply a wash of color on the outer edge of each side of the wings.
3. The brush strokes on the wings are painted using your
liner brush and thinned Apple Spice.
Finishing: Glue wings and halo on angel.
Apply varnish.
