"Cone Angel" - Free Craft Project
Materials: Pellon; metallic gold thread and cord; felt; large wooden bead; tiny pearl beads; lightweight paper-backed gold foil; white glue; food coloring; pipe cleaner.
To make dress: Cut a 12 x 12" piece of Pellon. Mix food coloring with 1 cup water. To test color strength, dip Pellon scraps in dye; hang to dry. Add more color if needed; dye 12" square. Cut a 9" diameter foil circle; fold in half and glue paper sides together. Apply glue along foil edge and center Pellon in place; trim PeIlon. When dry, form into cone shape and glue edge to hold shape. Use a fine needle and gold thread to create running stitch design on Pellon. Glue or sew on pearl beads; glue on felt or sequin trims.
To make head: Wrap and glue gold cord around wood bead for hair; tie in back. Push bead on knotted pipe cleaner you insert in cone. For a halo, string pearl beads on fine wire; glue on top of hair. Cut and glue on foil wings. Paint face. Tie on a cord for hanging.
