Crochet Cotton Thread, 3-400 Yd. balls White; Steel Crochet Hook No. 2 or any
size hook which will result in gauge below; 2 yds. Ribbon; 3 small buttons.
Gauge: 5 shells = 2 inches
Back Bodice: Ch
106, s c in 2nd st from hook, 2 d c in same space, skip 3 chs, * 1 s c, 2 d c in
next st, skip 3 chs (shell), repeat from * across ch ending skip 3 chs, s c in
last ch, ch 1, turn.
2nd row: S c in s c, 2 d c in same space, * 1
s c, 2 d c in next s c, repeat from * across row ending s c in last s c,
ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd row 6 times, turn, cut thread.
Next row: Skip 3
shells for underarm, attach thread and work across 10 shells, ch 1, turn. Work
back and forth over the 10 shells for 3 1/2 inches, cut thread. Attach thread at
base of back opening, work over 10 shells (3 shells remain for underarm).
Complete this side to correspond, cut thread.
Front Bodice: Ch
114, work 8 rows same as back, cut thread.
Next row: Skip 3 shells for
underarm, attach thread and work in shell pattern across row omitting last 3
shells for underarm, ch 1, turn. Work back and forth in shell pattern for 2
inches.
Shape Neckline: Work across 6 shells,
ch 1, turn. Work back and forth over the 6 shells for 1 1/2 inches, cut thread.
Skip 10 shells for neckline, attach thread and work back and forth over the 6
shells until there are same number of rows as other side, cut thread. Sew
shoulder and underarm seams.
Skirt: Attach
thread in seam at underarm, ch 4, tr c in same space, * ch 2, 2 tr c in next s c
of shell, repeat from * all around waistline for beading, ch 2, join.
Next
Rnd: Sl st to mesh, * pull up a 3/4 inch loop on hook, pull thread
through loop, s c in loop of st, repeat from * once (a double knot st), s c in
same space, repeat from 1st * once, work a double knot st, s c in next mesh,
then repeat from 1st * all around skirt. Place a marker at beg of round.
Next
Rnd: Work a double knot st, work 1 s c in loop at right of s c of next
double knot, work 1 s c at left of same double knot st, repeat from beg all
around. Repeat last round until skirt measures 7 1/2 inches or is 1/2 inch
less than desired length.
Next Rnd: Ch 4, s c in top s c of double
knot st, repeat from beg all around, join.
Next Rnd: Ch 1, work 5 s c in
each loop, join, turn.
Next Rnd: Ch 1, s c in s c, * 2 d c in same
space, skip 3 sc, s c in next s c, repeat from * all around, join, turn.
Next
Rnd: Work a shell in each shell same as bodice, join, cut thread.
Sleeves: With right side facing attach
thread in underarm seam, work 22 double knot sts around armhole edge skipping
about 1/2 inch between each st. Work 8 rounds of double knot sts same as skirt.
Next
Rnd: * Ch 2, s c in top s c of double knot st, repeat from * all
around, ch 2, join.
Next Rnd: Ch 1, work 2 s c in each ch 2 loop, join,
ch 1, turn.
Next Rnd: Work a shell, skip 2 s c, shell in next s c, repeat
from beg all around, turn.
Next Rnd: Work a shell in each shell, join,
cut thread.
Finishing: Sew buttons in position
spacing evenly. (For buttonhole use space between 2 d c of shell). With right
side facing attach thread at back opening. Work a row of shells up back opening,
around neck and down other side of back opening. Lace ribbon through beading and
finish with bow.
