Crochet Patterns - Love Snuggles Preemie Afghan

Materials Needed: Caron Simply Soft ww 4 ply yarn; size I crochet hook.

Approx. size: 18 x 18

Stitches used: hdc, pf (Puff Stitch): Puff Stitch (YO, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO and pull up a loop even with stitch on hook) 2 times. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook.

Directions: Ch 52

Rnd 1: HDC in third chain from hook and each chain across. Ch 2 turn. (50 HDC).

Rnd 2: HDC in same sp as Ch 2, * HDC in each st. Ch 2 turn. (50 HDC).

Rnd 3: Ch 2 ( counts as first hdc), in next stitch (YO, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO and pull up a loop even with stitch on hook) 2 times. YO and draw through all 7 loops on hook (first puff stitch made.) * In next stitch (YO, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO and pull up a loop even with stitch on hook) 2 times. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook. Repeat * until last stitch, hdc in last st. Ch 2 turn.

Rnd 4: HDC in same sp as ch 2, * HDC in each st. Ch 2, turn. (50 hdc).

Rnd 5: HDC in same sp as ch 2, * HDC in each st, ch 1 and turn. (50 hdc).

Rnd 6: Ch 2 (count as first dc), in next stitch (YO, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO and pull up a loop even with stitch on hook)2 times. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook (first puff stitch made.) * In next stitch (YO, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO and pull up a loop even with stitch on hook) 2 times. YO and draw through all 5 loops on hook. Repeat * until last stitch, dc in last st. Ch 2 turn.

Repeat Rnds 4-6.

Repeat Rnd 2 twice.

Edging: 

Rnd 1: Sc evenly around, using 3 sc in corners. Join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1 sc, in same stitch as ch 1. Sc evenly around, using 3 sc in corners. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
