Free Crochet Patterns - Lollipop Romper
Instructions are for small size. Changes for sizes medium and
large are in parentheses.
Materials: Baby
yarn (color of choice), 4
(4-5) balls. Crochet Hook No. 0.; 4 small pearl buttons; 1 1/2
yds. narrow ribbon.
Gauge: 2 pats. (6 sts)
= 1"; 6 pat. rows = 2".
Pants: Starting at one leg edge,
ch 53 (57, 61).
row 1:
Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1. turn.
row 2: * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc. Repeat from * across; 78
(84, 90) sc. Ch 1, turn.
row 3: Sc in each sc. Ch
3, turn.
row 4: Skip 1 sc, 3 dc in
next sc (shell made); * skip 2 sc, shell in next sc. Repeat from * across, skip 1
Sc, dc in last sc, Ch 3, turn.
row 5: * Dc in 3rd dc of next shell, ch 1, dc in 1st dc of same shell (cross
st made). Repeat from * across, dc in turning ch at end of row. Ch 3, turn.
row 6: Make a shell in ch-1 sp of each cross
St, dc in turning ch at end
of row. Ch 1, turn.
row 7: * Sc in 1st dc of shell, 2 sc in 2nd dc. 1 sc
in 3rd dc of same shell. Repeat from * across; 104 (12,120) sc. Ch 1, turn.
row 8: Sc in each sc across. Fasten off.
Make another piece the same thru row 8, ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across, sc in
each sc of 1st piece, starting at edge where yarn was fastened off and inc. 2
(1, 0) sc at joining 210 (225, 240) sc. Repeat rows 4, 5 and 6; ch 3, to turn
at end of row 6, then continue repeating rows 5 and 6 until piece measures 7 ½ (8½,
9½)" from joining. Fasten off.
Bodice: Starting at neck edge, ch 52 (56, 58).
row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1. turn.
row 2: 2 sc in each sc across, 102 (111, 114) Sc.
Ch

rows 3 thru 7: Same as for leg; 136 (148, 152) sc. row 8: Sc in each Sc
across, inc. 0 (2, 3) sc evenly on row; 136 (150, 153) Sc. Ch 1, turn. Work 0 (2, 4) rows in sc.
next row: Sc in 18 (21, 24) Sc for back; ch 12 (15, 18) for
underarm, skip next 30 (33, 36) sc for sleeve; sc in next 39 (42, 45) sc for
front; ch 11 (15, 18), skip 30 (33, 36) sc, sc in last 19 (21, 24) sc, Ch 3,
turn.
Following row: Work 6 (7, 8) shells across
back; 4 (5,6) shells across underarm ch; 13 (14, 15) shells across front; 4 (5,
6) shells across other ch; 6 (7, 8) shells across other half of back. Work 1
row cross st, 1 row shells then work 2 (4, 6) rows sc. Fasten off.
Sleeves: Ch 28 (31, 34).
Rows 1, 2 and 3: Same as for bodice;
54 (60, 66) sc. Work 1
row shells, 1 row cross st, 1 row shells.
next row: Sl St across the 1st 2
shells, ch 3, work cross St to last 2 shells, ch 3, turn. Continue in shell and
cross st pat., skipping the 1st and last pat. on every row until 8 pats. remain.
Fasten off.
Finishing: Seam pants at back from joining
(crotch) to within 2" of top. Seam crotch (if preferred crotch edges may be
finished with a row of Sc, and closed with buttons and button loops.) Gather top of
pants and sew to bodice. Seam sleeves and sew to armholes, gathering fullness at
top. Work a row of sc evenly around back opening, close opening with 4 button loops
and buttons. Make beading around neck and leg edges. With right side to you,
attach yarn at seam, ch 4, skip 1 st, dc in next st, * ch 1, skip 1 st, dc in
next st. Repeat from * around, ch 1, sl St in ch-4. Fasten off. Press romper.
Run ribbon thru beading.
