You will need: Polyurethane (water based, spray or brush on); 4 cups of all-purpose flour; 1 cup salt; 1/4 cup cinnamon; 3 Tbls. nutmeg; 1 1/2 cups warm water; 2 Tbls ground cloves.

Directions:

1. Add the 1 1/2 cups of water to all other dry ingredients and mix until the dough is of modeling clay consistency.

2.You may use cookie cutters to create desired designs or you just use your hands to mold the dough into the shapes of choice. Place your completed forms on non stick cookie sheet. Note: Do not grease pan.

3. Use a regular drinking straw to poke a hole in the top of each form before baking if you plan to hang the ornaments when completed.

4. Bake in oven at 200? for about an hour.

5. Remove forms from oven and allow to cool completely.

6. When ornaments are cool, finish with a coat of water-based polyurethane.

7. You may leave the ornaments in their natural state and color or use acrylic paints to define and enhance your creations. If you use paint you must then reseal the ornaments with the finish coat after the paint has dried.
