You'll
need:
Smooth
A5 white card at 250gsm
White
vellum, cut to 175mm x 120mm (once printed)
Ribbon
or edging with a rose pattern – 21cm
Strong,
clear glue (not PVA)
Roller
glue
What
you need to do:
·
Choose your wording and font
for the front of your invite and set it up in MS Word or similar word
processing package. Use the A5 paper size and centre the text.
Print it out on to your vellum.
· Cut the vellum to size.
· Position the vellum in the
centre of the card and attach it with roller glue. Use the roller glue
along the left hand edge of the vellum. Don't worry about the glue
showing through as you'll be covering it with the ribbon.
· Cut the ribbon to length and
secure it along the edge of the vellum with some strong clear glue. For
this ribbon, I placed the glue under each rose. The ribbon should cover
any traces of the roller glue on the vellum.
I
use UHU glue for my strong clear glue. It can end up being stringy, so
to avoid any strings of glue on my card, I glue the object away from the card
and then move the object around my spare finger until the glue string
breaks. I then place the object where I want it. If
you do get glue strings on your cards, then you can rub them off – just make
sure you've got clean fingers first or you'll end up with a dirty, grubby
mess!
