Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp, 2 dc in
each sc around, join.
Rnd 3: Ch 5, dc in next dc, * ch 2, dc
in next dc, repeat from * around, ch 2, join in 3rd st of
ch.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in lp, 3 dc in
each lp around, join.
Rnd 5: Ch 5, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc,
* ch 2, skip 1 dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * around, ch 2, join.
Rnd 6: Same as rnd 4.
Rnd 7: * Ch 4 (counts as part of
cluster), holding back on hook the last lp of each tr, make 2 tr in same sp,
thread over and through all lps (cluster made), ch 6, holding back on hook the
last lp of each tr make 2 tr in 5th ch from hook, thread over and through all
lps (rice st), skip 2 dc, sl st in next dc, repeat from * 22 times; cluster in
same sp, skip 2 dc, 3-tr cluster in same sp with 1st cluster.
Rnd 8: 2-tr cluster in top of st just
made, ch 6, rice st in 5th ch from hook, * sl st in ch between next cluster and
rice sts, cluster in same sp, ch 6, rice st in 5th ch from hook, repeat from *
22 times; sl st in ch-1 between next cluster and rice sts, cluster in same sp, 3
tr cluster in same sp with 1st cluster. Repeat last rnd, 4 more times. Break
thread.
Edge: Attach
Shaded Pinks in ch-1 between any cluster and rice st, cluster in same sp, * ch
6, sl st in 4th ch from hook (picot), ch 2, cluster in same sp, ch 6, picot, ch
2, cluster in ch-1 between next cluster and rice sts, repeat from * around, ending to correspond. Break
thread.
Cup: Work 1st 4 rnds
same as saucer.
Rnd 5: * Cluster in same sp, ch 6, rice
st in 5th ch from
hook, skip 3 dc, sl st in next dc, repeat from * 10 times; cluster in same sp, skip 3
dc, 3 tr cluster in
same sp with 1st cluster.
Rnd 6:
Work in same manner as 8th rnd, repeating from
* 10 times. Repeat last rnd 5 more times.
Rnd 12: * Cluster in same sp, ch
4, sl st in 4th ch from hook (picot), ch 5, rice st in 5th ch from hook, sl st
in ch-1 between next cluster and rice sts, repeat from * 10 times; cluster in
same sp, ch 4, picot, cluster in same sp with 1st cluster. Break thread.
Handle: With White,
ch 29, dc in 4th ch from hook, 3 dc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in next 17
ch, 3 dc in next ch, 1 dc in next 2 ch, 3 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each remaining
sts of ch. Break thread. Sew to cup as illustrated having most incs. at top.
Flower: With Shaded
Pinks, ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join. rnd 2: * Ch 4, 3 tr in next sc, slip
lp off hook, insert hook in 4th st of ch, pull lp through (popcorn), ch 4, sl st
in same sp with tr, repeat from * 4 times.
Rnd 3:
* Ch 4, sl st in same sp, ch 3, keep ch in
back of popcorn, sl st in same sp with next popcorn, repeat from * 4 times.
Rnd
4: * Ch 3, keep ch in back of popcorn working, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, 1
hdc, 1 sc in ch-4 lp, repeat from * 4 times, sl St in next ch 3. Break thread.
Leaf: With Green, ch
10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, 1 tr in
next ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, 1 hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. Break
thread. Make 2 more leaves. Appliqué flower and leaves to cup as illustrated.
Make a heavy starch and dip cup and saucer.
Shape cup over small glass until dry, making flower stand out. Shape saucer in
small saucer.
