Top Section: With Green, ch 6.
Rnd 1: 3
sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch, 3 sc in end ch, working on
other side of chain, 1 sc in next 3 ch. Do not join, place marker at beg. of
each rnd.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in next sc, 3 sc in next
sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, 3 sc in
next sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc.
Rnd 3: 1 sc in each sc on sides and
inc. 5 sc on each end (30 sc).
Rnd 4: 1 sc in each of next 3 sc,
attach Yellow and working over Green, work 1 sc in each of next 3 sc — when
changing colors always complete last half of St in next color and carry unused
color across back while working over it — * with Green 1 sc in each of next 3
sc; with Yellow, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, repeat from * 3 times.
Rnd 5: * Keeping Green over Green and
Yellow over Yellow, with Green, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next
sc; with Yellow, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc, repeat from
* around.
Rnd 6: With Green, work 1 sc in each
sc, inc. 1 sc in each Yellow and each Green block.
Rnd 7: * With Yellow, 1 sc in each of
next 5 sc; with Green, 1 sc in each of next 5 sc, repeat from * around.
Rnd 8: Working Yellow over Yellow and
Green over Green, inc. 1 sc in each Yellow and Green block around.
Rnd 9: Same as rnd 6.
Rnd 10: * With Green, 1 sc in each of

Rnd 11: Same as rnd 8.

inc. 6 sc evenly spaced at each end, break off Yellow (102 sc).
Rnd 14: Pick up Green and work 1 sc in
each sc around. Break off Green.
HEAD: Fold piece
in half lengthwise to mark center and with Green, work 1 sc in each of the 7
center sts, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 1 sc in each sc, ch 1 to turn
each row.
Rows 3 and 4: Inc. 1 sc at beg. of each
row.
Rows 5 and 6: Work even in sc. Dec. 1
St at beg. and end of each row until 3 sts remain,
Next row: Work 2 sc as 1 sc, sl
st in last sc. Break off.
TAIL: With Green, work 1
sc in center 4 sc at opposite end, ch 1 to turn each row.
Next 2 rows: Sc in each sc. Dec. 1 sc

LEGS (make 8): With
Green, ch 4 and work 3 sc on ch, ch 1 turn,

sc, * 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * around, 1 sc in
last sc.
Rnd 6: 1 sc in each of next 29 sc, ch
8, skip 6 sts, 1 sc in each remaining sc.
Rnd 7: Inc. 1 sc every 3rd st, working
n ch in same manner,
Rnds 8 & 9: Work even.
Rnd 10: Inc. in every 4th sc.
Rnd 11: Work even.
Rnd 12: Inc. in every 5th sc.
Rnd 13: Work even. Break off Yellow.
Rnd 14: With green, 1 sc in each sc on
sides and inc. 9 sts evenly spaced on each end (102 sc). Break green. With
green, work head and tail same as on other piece.
Thumb: With yellow, work 16 sc around thumb opening
and without joining rnds work even for 6 more rnds.
Next Rnd: Dec. 4 sts evenly placed,
work 2 rnds even. Dec. every other st until 5 sts remain. Break Yellow leaving
an end. Draw opening closed with needle, fasten firmly. Sew top and under
sections tog, leaving opening at tail for hand. Embroider eyes in black French
knots, surround with white outline st. Use black for mouth. Sew leg sections
tog. and sew at equal distances from tail and head on each side. Cover small
ring with Green and sew under head for hanging.
