All Rights Reserved Materials: Small amount of cotton thread; using two balls and two strands. Size #30 , size #10 steel hook Size #20, size # 8 steel hook Size #10, size #6 steel hook Preferred fabric stiffener. Note: Less stitches are used for bottom of the box, so that the top will fit over the rim of the bottom. Abbreviations: (fl) = front loops only; (bls) = both loops; (sm) = same Top: Rnd 1: Ch 5, sl st in 5th ch from hook. Rnd 2: Ch 4, dc in sm sp as joining, * ch 1 (dc, ch1, dc) in next ch, Ch 1,* rep from *; sl st in top of 1st dc. Rnd 3: Sl st in 1st ch 1 sp, ch 6, *dc in next ch 1 sp; ch 3*; rep from *, Sl st to 3rd ch of 1st ch 6. Rnd 4: Ch 3,dc in ea ch 3 & in next dc, rep from around, sl to top of 1st dc in fl only. Rnd 5: Working in front loops only (fl) dc in ea st around. Sl st top top of 1st dc in both loops. Rnd 6: Working in bls, ch 1, sc in sm st and in ea st around, finish off. Bottom: Rnd 1: Ch 3, sl st in 4th ch from hook to form ring. Rnd 2: Ch 4, dc in sm sp, *ch 1 (dc, ch1, dc) in ea st,* rep from *, sl to to 3rd ch of 1st ch 4. Rnd 3: Sl st in in 1st ch 1 sp, ch 5, dc in sm sp, *ch 2 (dc, ch 2, dc) In ea ch 1 sp,* rep from *; sl st in 3rd ch of 1st ch 5. Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in ea ch 2 sp & in ea dc, rep around, sl st in fl of Top of 1st dc. Rnd 5: Working in fl only, ch 3, dc in ea st around, sl st in Bl of 1st dc. Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in next st, *ch 2, sk st, dc in next st, ch 2, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, ch 2, rep from *, sl to top of 1st dc. Rnd 7: Same as round 6, when working in dc insert hook through top of post of the dc to line up stitches. Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in sm st & in ea st around, sl st to 1st sc, finish off. Wash and starch pieces with favorite starching agent. Loop a 5 inch piece of thread to one of the bottom dc post and tie a knot. Hang on packages or Christmas tree or what have you. Enjoy!! |
