Crochet Patterns - Patriotic Placemats

This placemat is made with bone rings. Make a set and accent with white napkins for a patriotic look.

Materials: Coats & Clark's O.N.T. "Speed-Cro-Sheen" mercerized cotton, 2 balls each of Navy Blue and Deep Red. Steel crochet hook No. 2/0 (double zero). 140 bone rings, 1 inch in diameter for each placemat.

Mat Measures 12 1/2 x 17 1/2 inches.

Strip: (Make 10) Starting at long side, attach blue to first ring. 14 sc in same ring, (14 sc in next ring) 13 times. Break off.

To Join Strips: Attach red to end sc of first strip, 7 sc in same ring, * sl st in center sc of corresponding ring of second strip, 7 sc in same ring on first strip, 7 sc in next ring. Repeat from * across until all rings have been joined. Sl st in next sc. Break off. Join all strips the same way.
