Crochet Patterns - Crocheted Potholders

Kindly Contributed by: Margie Hammeken PkHamm@cs.com

I found a wonderful way to use those scraps we all have around, and lots of different colors.  I used up all my remaining white, with blue, pink and yellow.  When they get dirty just toss them in the washer & dryer.  Try this very easy dc pattern, will make a 6" round potholder in about 20 minutes or less.

Using size H hook, make 6 ch. Join together to form a ring with a sl st into the first ch.  (count on hook as 1).

1st round: 3 ch to count as the first dc, then work 15 dc into the ring. Join w/a sl st to the 3rd of the first 3 ch. (16 dc).

2nd round: 3 ch, 2 dc into each dc of previous round, 1 dc into the base of turning ch. Join w/a sl st to the 3rd of the first 3 ch. (32 dc).

3rd round: 3 ch, (1 dc into next stitch, 2 dc into next stitch) 15 times, 1 dc into next stitch, 1 dc into base of turning ch. Join with a sl st to the 3rd of the first 3 ch. (63 dc).

4th round: 3 ch, (1 dc into each of next 2 stitches, 2 dc into next stitch) 15 times, 1 dc into each of next 2 stitches, 1 dc into base of turning ch. Join with a sl st to the 3rd of the first 3 ch. (64 dc).

Let me know how many of you out there crocheted some of these unique potholders.
