Crochet Patterns - Yellow Ribbon Hat

This colorful, crochet hat pattern was kindly contributed by designer Rachel Carden. Please email Rachel with any questions regarding this pattern.

Materials:

- Red, white and blue variegated yarn. (I used I Love This Yarn #644 Old Glory Ombre)

- Yellow ribbon. (I used 3/8”)

- Size J/10 (6MM) crochet hook.

Abbreviations:

- Rnd: Round

- Ch: Chain

- Sl st: Slip stitch

- Dc: Double crochet

- Tc: Treble crochet

For added length repeat Rnd 6 until desired length is reached.

For larger or smaller sizes increase or decrease number of dcs in Rnd 1.

Pattern:

Ch 3, sl st into first ch to create loop.

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 13 dc into loop, join with sl st at first dc.

Rnd 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in same spot as ch 2, 2 dc in each dc all the way around, join with sl st.

Rnd 3: Ch 2, 1 dc in same spot as ch 2, *1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in the next, repeat from *, join with sl st.

Rnd 4: Ch 2, 1 dc in same spot as ch 2, *1 dc in next 2 dcs, 2 dcs in next dc, repeat from *, join with sl st.

Rnd 5: Ch 2, 1 dc in same spot as ch 2, *1 dc in the next 3 dcs, 2 dcs in next dc, repeat from *, join with sl st.

Rnds 6-14: Ch 2, 1 dc in same spot as ch 2, 1 dc in each dc all the way around, join with sl st.

Rnd 15: Ch 2, *1 tc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, repeat from *, join with sl st, fasten off and weave in end.

Weave yellow ribbon through last round, going in front of the tcs and behind the dcs. Tie in bow and weave in the tails of the bow to the sides, leaving the loops out.
