Crochet Patterns - Daisy Centerpiece and Placemat

Materials: White and yellow worsted weight yarn, H hook.

Note: To make this into a place mat skip rows 5-9 on the petal instructions.

Directions: Center of Flower: with white ch 4 join with a sl st to form a ring

Round 1 -  ch 3, work 9 dc in ring just formed, join with a sl st to top of ch 3.

Round 2 -  ch 3 , dc in same st as joining , 2 dc in next st and in each st around , join with a sl st to top of ch 3.

Round 3 -  repeat round 2.

Round 4 -  ch 3, dc in same st, * dc in next st, 2 dc in next st * continue from * to* around,  join with a sl st in top of ch 3. You should have worked 60 dc in this round. Fasten off white.

Petals:

Row 1 -  attach yellow in any dc with a sl st, ch 3,  dc in same st, dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st, ch 3 turn (8total, ch 3 counts as a dc).

Row 2 -  dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, 2 dc in top of ch 3, ch 3 turn (12 total).

Row 3 -  dc in next st, dc in next 8 sts, 2 dc in top of ch 3, ch 3 turn (13 total).

Row 4-7 -  dc in each st across,  including ch 3, ch 3 turn . 

Row 8 -  dc in each st across, not in top in turning ch, ch 3 turn.

Row 9  -  dc in 1st st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts,, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in remaining 6 sts, ch 3 turn (total 14).

Row 10 -  dc in 1st st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next 4 sts,, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in remaining 4 sts, ch 3 turn (total 12).

Row 11 -  dc in 1 st st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in remaining 3 sts, ch 3 turn (10 total).

Row 12 - dc in 1 st st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next  2 sts, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next 2 st, ch 3 turn (8 total).

Row 13 - dc in 1 st st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next  st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dc in next st, ch 3 turn (6 total).

Row 14-  dc in 1 st st, dec dc in next 2 sts, dec dc in next 2 sts , ch 3 turn (4 total).

Row 15 -  dc in 1st st, dec dc in next 2 sts (3 total)  Fasten off.

Attach yellow at the start of the petal and sc evenly around the outside of the petal. 

Repeat the petal instructions again 9 more times around the white center.
