This evening shawl will make an elegant accent piece for any outfit, for daytime or evening outings.  You will enjoy crocheting the shawl pattern as it comes together easily and fairly quickly.  This will make a lovely piece for your wardrobe or as a gift to a friend.  It can be made in many different colors and yarn types.  Enjoy our free pattern!

Difficulty: Easy 

Materials: Spinnerin Startime, 6 - 40 gram balls white with silver or similar yarn. Crochet hook size F.

Size: 56" wide x 30" deep, plus fringe.

Gauge: 1 pat = 3 1/4"; 2 rows = 1".

Step 2: Pattern Instructions

Instructions for Shawl:

Row 1; Beginning at center back top edge, ch 7; dc in 7th ch from hook, (ch 3, dc in same ch) 4 times - 5 sps. Ch 5, turn.

Row 2: Sk first sp, 5 dc in next sp, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3, 5 dc in next sp, ch 2, sk 2 ch of last sp, dc in next ch. Ch 6, turn.

Row 3: (Dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in next dc, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3, sc in next sp, ch 3, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in ext dc, ch 2, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 5, turn.

Row 4: Dc in first sp, ch 3; puff st in next dc (to make puff st: yo, draw up a lp in st, * yo, draw up a lp in same st, repeat form * twice, yo and through all 9 lps on hook, ch 1 tightly to finish puff st); (ch 2, puff st in next dc) 4 times, ch 3, sk next sp, dc, ch 3, dc in center ch of center sp, ch 3, puff st in next dc, (ch 2, puff st in next dc) 4 times, ch 3, dc, ch 2, dc in turning ch. Ch 5, turn.

Row 5: Sk ch-2 sp, 5 dc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, 5 dc in next sp, ch 3, sc in next (center) sp, ch 3, 5 dc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, 5 dc in next sp, ch 2, dc in turning ch. Ch 6, turn.

Row 6: Sk sp (dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in net dc, ch 4, sc in ch-2 sp, ch 4, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in next dc, (ch 3, sc in next sp) twice, ch 3, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in next dc, ch 4, sc in ch-2 sp, ch 4, (dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in next dc, ch 2, dc in turning ch. Row 11: * Sk next sp, 5 dc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 3, repeat from * across to center sp, ch 3, sc in center sp, ch 3, ** 5 dc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, sc in next sp, ch 2, sc in next sp, ch 3, sk next sp, repeat from ** across, end 5 dc in next to last sp, ch 2, dc in turning ch. Row 12: * (Dc in next dc, ch 1) 4 times, dc in next dc, ch 4, sc in ch-2 sp, ch 4, repeat from * across to center, ch 3, sc in sp before center st, ch 3, sc in sp after center st, ch 3, repeat between *'s to last sp, end ch 2, dc in turning ch. Ch 5, turn.

Row 13-37: Repeat rows 10-12, ending with row 10, Ch 7, turn.

Row 38: Sc in first sp, * ch 5, sc in next sp, repeat from * across two sides of shawl; work 1 row sc across top of shawl. End off.

Fringe: Cut strands for fringe 20" long. Using 6 strands tog, knot a fringe in every ch-5 loop on sides.
