Materials:  Bernat Soft Baby Yarn, two-three skeins of each White and Pale Blue.

Needle size:  5.00 mm or Size H.

 

 

Stitches used

CH = Chain

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

FPDC = Front Post Double Crochet

 

 

Base: Chain 151 with white yarn.

Row 1 and 2:  SC across, CH 1, turn.

Row 3: 15 SC, *FPDC around next SC two rows below, 1 SC, repeat 5 times from *, FPDC. Repeat from beginning across to end, Ch 1 turn. (Note: Important; Very last stitch of the row use a SC instead of FPDC to keep sides straight).

Row 4: SC across to end, Ch 1, Turn.

Row 5-20:  Rep rows 3 and 4.

Row 21: Rep row 3.

Row 22: Change color to blue, repeat row 4.

Row 23: * 1 SC, FPDC around the next SC two row below, Repeat 5 times from *, 1 SC, 15 SC, repeat from beginning until end, Ch 1 turn.

Row 24: SC across, Ch 1, turn.

Row 25 – 40: Rep row 23 and 24.

Row 41: Rep row 23.

Row 42: Change to white yarn, rep row 4.

 

Rep rows 3 through 42: until you have 12 stripes, tie off.

 

Border: SC around the blanket for a border, SC Three times in each corner stitch.
