Free Crochet patterns - Patchwork Placemats
Materials: 1 ball cotton thread for
each mat and size F crochet hook. Small amounts of variety colors.
Pattern: With
colored thread, ch 6 and join with slip stitch, ch 2.
Row 1: * Work 4 dc, ch 1 into circle *; repeat
between *'s 3 more times, join.
Row 2: Work * 4 dc, ch 1, 4 dc, ch 1 * under
each ch 1 of previous row, 4 dc, ch 1, 4 dc, ch 1, into corner ch *; repeat
between *'s around row and join.
Continue to work in this manner placing 2 dc
groups and 2 ch sts in each corner, 1 dc group and ch 1 under chain sts along
sides of square until reaching desired dimensions. After assembling all the
squares, work a finish row of sc completely around mat.
Note: You can also make matching
coasters in the same manner.
