Free Crochet Pattern - Chevron Afghan

Materials: Afghan takes about 12 ounces white, 8 ounces aqua, 4 ounces each avocado and light teal. We suggest using Dazzle Yarn by Caron in knitting worsted weight. Use Susan Bates crochet hook size J or size needed for gauge.

Abbreviations: ch (chain) sk (skip) sc (single crochet) lp (loop) st (stitch)

Gauge: 3 sc equal 1 inch

Pattern:

With white, ch 183. Sc in second st from hook, * Sc in each of next 14 ch, 3 sc in next ch, sc in each of next 14 ch, sk 1 ch, repeat from * across, ending with the sk 1 st, sc in last st, ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Working in back lp of sts Throughout, sc in first sc, sk 1 sc, * sc in each of next 14 scs, 3 sc in next sc, sc in each of next 14 sts, sk 2 sts, repeat from * across, ending last repeat with sk 1 st, sc in last st, ch 1, turn.

Repeat row 2 throughout, working 4 more rows white, 6 rows aqua, 6 rows avocado, 6 rows white, 6 rows aqua, 6 rows teal.

Repeat these stripes three times, then work 6 more rows white, fasten off.

Fringe: Cut 7-inch strands of each color. With 2 strands of a color, knot into every other sc on both ends of afghan: white, avocado, white, aqua, white, teal. Trim fringe.
