Easter Basket Fridgie

Crafts: Make Candy Bouquets and Centerpieces For Fun & Profit.
Materials:
Worsted weight yarn, 4 ply (any color);
Crochet hook, size G.
Finishing Materials:
Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
1/3-yard (5/8" ribbon)
Glue or needle and thread Magnets
Finished Size: 8" T x 7" W (widest part)
Gauge: Not important to over all size
Special Stitches:
Fpdc: Yarn over, insert hook from the front
of indicated dc post in pattern instructions to the back,
around the post and back to the front, draw up a loop, (yo,
draw through 2 loops on hook) twice to complete stitch. Forms a ridged effect on
back of work.
Bpdc: Yarn over, insert hook from behind
indicated dc post in pattern instructions to the front, around
the post and to the back, draw up a loop, (yo, draw through 2
loops on hook) twice to complete stitch. Forms a ridged effect on front of work.
Reverse sc: Working from left to right
(opposite for left handers), insert hook in stitch to the right of hook, pull up
a loop, under and to the left of loop on hook (2 loops on hook), yo, draw
through both loops on hook to complete the stitch.
Instruction:
Row 1) Starting at bottom: Ch 8; dc in 5th ch from
hook; dc in last 3 ch: 5 dc.
Row 2) Ch 3, turn work (counts as first dc, now and
throughout), dc in first st; fpdc over next dc, dc in next dc, fpdc over next
dc, 2 dc in last dc: 7 sts.
Row 3) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, (dc in next dc, bpdc
over next dc) twice, dc in next dc, 2 dc in last dc: 9 sts.
Row 4) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, (fpdc over next st,
dc in next st) 3 times, fpdc over next st, 2 dc in last dc: 11 sts.
Row 5) Ch 3, turn work; dc first st, (dc in next dc, bpdc
over next st) 4 times, dc in next dc, 2 dc in last st: 13 sts.
Row 6) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, (fpdc over next st,
dc in next st) 5 times, fpdc over next st, 2 dc in last dc: 15 sts.
Row 7) Ch 3, turn work; dc first st, (dc in next dc, bpdc
over next st) 6 times, dc in next dc, 2 dc in last st: 17 sts.
Row 8) Ch 3, turn work; dc in first st, (fpdc over next st,
dc in next st) 7 times, fpdc over next st, 2 dc in last dc: 19 sts.
Row 9) Ch 3, turn work; 4 dc in first st, (dc in next st,
bpdc over next st) 8 times, dc in next dc, 5 dc in last dc.
Row 10) Ch 1, turn work; sc in first st, sc in next 26 sts:
27 sc.
Row 11) Ch 1, do not turn, reverse sc
across top of basket. Fasten off; secure ends.
Handle:
Row 1) Right side facing, join yarn first post st worked on row
9 with a slip st (working around the post from the back); ch 40, slip st over
last post st worked on same row.
Row 2) Ch 1, turn work; sc in each ch across working under
the top loop only. Slip st around dc post to anchor: 40 sc.
Row 3) Ch 1, turn work; slip st in each sc across. Fasten
off; secure ends.
Finishing:
Attach magnets to back. Using our Egg
Pattern, crochet eggs using a smaller hook size, or even thread if you
prefer and a size 6 - 8 hook. Place eggs inside basket and around the bottom as
shown in photo.
