Crochet Patterns - Christmas Tree Skirt

Holly leaves and berries are appliquéd into this easy skirt, ready to
dress the Christmas tree.
Size: Approx. 32" in diameter

Materials: Worsted weight yarn, 15 oz in Off-White,
3 oz in Green, 1 oz in Red; Size H crochet hook; Tapestry needle
Gauge: 7 dc and 4 rows to 2" worked on size H look
To save time, take time to check gauge.
To make: Using Off-White, ch 6 and join with a sl st o first ch to form a ring.
Base row Ch 3 to count as first dc, 16 dc n ring. 17 dc. Do not join
but cont in rows. Turn.
1st row Ch 3, 2 dc in each dc to end. Turn.
2nd row Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc to end. Turn.
3rd row Ch 3, * 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * to
end. Turn.
4th row As 2nd row.
5th row Ch 3, * 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep
from * to end. Turn.
6th row As 2nd row.
7th row Ch 3, *1 dc in each of next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from
* to end. Turn.
8th row As 2nd row.
9th row Ch 3, * 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * to end.
Turn.
10th row AS 2nd row.
llth row Ch3, * 1 dc in each of next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * to end.
Turn.
12th row As 2nd row.
13th row Ch 3, * 1 dc in each of next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * to end.
Turn.
Rep 2nd row and 13th row until skirt measures 32" in diameter.
Break off yarn and fasten off.
Weave in all loose ends.
Skirt will overlap at back opening.
Holly leaf
Rounds are continuous and worked From the right side.
Using Green, ch 14, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch to end. Do not turn.
1st round Work 2 more sc in end ch, then working along other side of foundation
ch, 1 sc in each ch to first sc.
2nd round * 1 dc, 1 tr in next sc, ch 3, sl st in next sc, 1 sc in
next sc, rep from * around both sides of sc rows to first dc, join with a sl st to first
dc.
Break off yam, leaving an end approx. 15" long for sewing. Draw
yarn through loop to fasten off.
Make 20 leaves in the same way, or as many as desired to trim border of
skirt.
Berry: Using 2 strands of Red tog, ch 4, 4 dc in first ch. Turn.
Join with a sl st to top of ch-3. Break off yarn, leaving an end
approx. 10" long for sewing. Draw yarn through loop to fasten off. Make approx. 2 berries for each leaf, or as many as desired.
To finish, sew leaves and berries to skirt as pictured.
