This little bit of vintage Irish charm makes a lovely addition to any table. You will need about 250 yards of number 30 crochet cotton and a size 10 steel crochet hook to make a doily that measures approximately 19 inches long.

Abbreviations: ch (chain) dtr (double treble) sl st (slip stitch) p (picot) dc (double crochet) tr (treble) sc (single crochet) rnd (round) sk (skip) lp (loop).

Rnd 1: Ch 3, 19 dc in ring, 51 st in top of ch 3.

Rnd 2: * Ch 15, make a 3 tr cluster in st at base of ch 15, (to make a 3 tr cluster: work 3 tr in st indicated, hold last lp of each tr on hook, thread over and work off all lps at once), ch 15, sl st in same st with cluster, sc in each of next 5 dc, repeat from * 3 times. Fasten off.

Rnd 3: (4 dc over ch 15, ch 4, sl st at base of ch 4 for a p) 3 times, 4 dc over same ch, * work in same manner over next ch 15, 4 dc over next ch 15, ch 2, sl st in last p on last ch, ch 2, sl st at base of first ch 2 for a joined p, (4 dc, p) twice over same ch 15, 4 dc over same ch 15, repeat from * around, end with a ch 2, sl st in first p made, ch 2, sl st at base of first ch 2, 4 dc in same ch 15, sl st in top of first dc.
